Prasterone enanthate
Prasterone enanthate (also known as DHEA enanthate) is a synthetic, injectable form of dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), which is a naturally occurring hormone produced by the adrenal glands. It is used in the treatment of various health conditions, including osteoporosis, depression, and aging.
Pharmacology[edit]
Prasterone enanthate is a prodrug of DHEA, meaning it is metabolized in the body to produce DHEA. DHEA is a precursor to other hormones, including estrogen and testosterone. As such, prasterone enanthate can influence the levels of these hormones in the body.
Medical uses[edit]
Prasterone enanthate is used in the treatment of a variety of conditions. It has been shown to improve bone density in postmenopausal women, making it a potential treatment for osteoporosis. It may also have benefits for mental health, as some studies have suggested it can reduce symptoms of depression. Additionally, it is sometimes used in anti-aging therapies due to its potential to improve skin health and reduce signs of aging.
Side effects[edit]
As with any medication, prasterone enanthate can have side effects. These may include acne, hair loss, and changes in mood. It can also affect hormone levels, which can lead to changes in menstrual cycles in women and potential fertility issues in men.
