Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester, born Alice Christabel Montagu Douglas Scott on December 25, 1901, was a member of the British royal family. She was the wife of Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester, who was a son of King George V and Queen Mary.

Early Life and Family Alice was born in London, England, the daughter of the 7th Duke of Buccleuch and Queensberry and Lady Margaret Bridgeman. She had three siblings: two brothers and a sister.

Marriage and Children In 1935, Alice married Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester, at Buckingham Palace. The couple had two sons, Prince William of Gloucester and Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester.

Royal Duties As a member of the royal family, Princess Alice undertook various official duties and engagements. She was known for her charitable work and involvement in organizations supporting healthcare and education.
