ProMusa
ProMusa is a global network of banana enthusiasts who are dedicated to addressing the challenges faced by the banana industry. The network includes scientists, farmers, and other stakeholders who are interested in the conservation, production, and use of bananas. ProMusa was established in 2001 and is coordinated by Bioversity International, a global research-for-development organization.

ProMusa was established in 2001 as a response to the need for a platform where banana stakeholders could share knowledge and collaborate on research and development projects. The network was initially coordinated by the International Network for the Improvement of Banana and Plantain (INIBAP), which later merged with Bioversity International.

The main objectives of ProMusa are to facilitate the exchange of information and knowledge among banana stakeholders, promote the conservation and use of banana genetic resources, and support research and development activities that address the challenges faced by the banana industry.
Activities[edit | edit source]
ProMusa organizes a biennial symposium, known as the ProMusa Symposium, where scientists, farmers, and other stakeholders gather to share research findings and discuss the latest developments in the banana industry. The network also publishes a newsletter, the ProMusa News, which provides updates on the network's activities and highlights recent research on bananas.
In addition to these activities, ProMusa maintains an online platform, the ProMusa website, where members can access a wide range of resources related to bananas, including scientific articles, technical manuals, and databases of banana genetic resources.
