Qatar Airways is the state-owned flag carrier of Qatar. Qatar Airways was established on 22 November 1993 and began operations on 20 January 1994. Initially, it was a small regional carrier serving a handful of routes. In 1997, the airline was re-launched under the mandate of the Emir of Qatar, with a vision to become a leading international airline.
