Queirolo

From WikiMD's Wellness Encyclopedia

Queirolo is a renowned brand in Peru, known for its production of high-quality wines and pisco, a type of grape brandy popular in the country. The company, officially known as Bodegas y Viñedos Santiago Queirolo S.A.C., has a rich history dating back to the late 19th century.

History[edit | edit source]

The Queirolo brand was established in 1880 by an Italian immigrant, Santiago Queirolo, who initially started a small grocery store in the Pueblo Libre district of Lima, Peru. The store, named Almacén Queirolo, sold various products, including wines and piscos imported from Italy. Over time, Santiago Queirolo decided to produce his own wines and piscos, marking the beginning of the Queirolo wine and pisco production.

Production[edit | edit source]

Queirolo owns vineyards in the Ica Region, a region in Peru known for its favorable grape-growing conditions. The company produces a variety of wines, including red, white, and rosé, as well as different types of pisco. Queirolo is particularly known for its Intipalka range of wines, which have won several awards at international wine competitions.

Queirolo Today[edit | edit source]

Today, Queirolo is one of the leading wine and pisco producers in Peru. The company operates a hotel and a restaurant in Pueblo Libre, where visitors can taste Queirolo's products and learn about the production process. Queirolo's wines and piscos are widely available in Peru and are also exported to various countries around the world.
