Reaction
Reaction is a term used in various fields of study, including Chemistry, Physics, and Biology. It refers to a process that leads to the transformation of one set of chemical substances to another.
Chemical reactions[edit | edit source]
In Chemistry, a reaction is a process that involves rearrangement of the molecular or ionic structure of a substance, as opposed to a change in physical form or a nuclear reaction.
Physical reactions[edit | edit source]
In Physics, a reaction is an action that is subject to equal and opposite reaction. This is based on Newton's third law of motion which states that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
Biological reactions[edit | edit source]
In Biology, a reaction refers to the response of an organism, organ or cell to a stimulus. This can be in the form of a metabolic reaction, immune response, or cellular signaling.
