Reaction Agostini - The Agostini reaction, also known as the Agostini-Baldwin reaction, is a chemical reaction used to synthesize heterocyclic compounds. It is a type of cyclization reaction in which an alkyne and an aldehyde are reacted in the presence of a palladium catalyst to form a cyclic compound. This reaction is named after the Italian chemist Ugo Agostini, who first reported the reaction in the early 20th century. The Agostini reaction is widely used in organic synthesis as a tool to create complex and functionalized molecules for various applications such as medicinal chemistry and materials science.
