Richard K. Bernstein
Richard K. Bernstein is an American physician and an advocate for the low-carbohydrate diabetes diet to help achieve normal blood sugars for diabetics. Bernstein has type 1 diabetes. His private medical practice in Mamaroneck, New York is devoted solely to treating diabetes and prediabetes.
Early life and education[edit | edit source]
Bernstein was born in 1934. He was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 12. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He later received a Doctor of Medicine degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Career[edit | edit source]
Bernstein is a licensed physician in the state of New York. He is a Fellow of the American College of Nutrition, a member of the American Diabetes Association, and a member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. He has published peer-reviewed articles on diabetes in medical journals.
Advocacy[edit | edit source]
Bernstein is an advocate for the low-carbohydrate diet for diabetics. He believes that the diet can help diabetics achieve normal blood sugars. He has written several books on the subject, including "Dr. Bernstein's Diabetes Solution".
