Robert Kadlec is an American physician and public health official who has served in various capacities within the United States government. He is known for his expertise in biodefense and public health preparedness.

Robert Kadlec was born in the United States. He earned his M.D. degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and later obtained a M.P.H. from the Harvard School of Public Health.

In 2017, Kadlec was appointed as the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). As ASPR, he was responsible for leading the nation's efforts in preparing for and responding to public health emergencies, including pandemics, natural disasters, and bioterrorism.
