Robert Roland Hughes

Robert Roland Hughes (born 1948) is a British medical doctor and epidemiologist. He is known for his work in the field of epidemiology, particularly in relation to HIV and AIDS. Hughes has been involved in a number of significant studies and has contributed to the understanding of the spread and impact of HIV and AIDS.

Early life and education[edit | edit source]

Hughes was born in 1948. He studied medicine at the University of Cambridge, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB BChir) degree. He later obtained a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the same institution.

After completing his education, Hughes worked as a medical doctor in the United Kingdom. He later moved into the field of epidemiology, with a particular focus on HIV and AIDS. He has been involved in a number of significant studies in this area, contributing to the understanding of the spread and impact of these diseases.

Hughes has also held a number of academic positions. He has been a professor at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, where he has taught epidemiology and public health. He has also been a visiting professor at the University of California, San Francisco.
