Rose is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character is primarily an enemy of Spider-Man.
Publication history[edit | edit source]
Rose first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #253, created by writer Tom DeFalco and artist Ron Frenz. The character was introduced as a new crime lord in New York City.
Fictional character biography[edit | edit source]
Richard Fisk[edit | edit source]
The original Rose is Richard Fisk, the son of Wilson Fisk, also known as the Kingpin. Disillusioned with his father's criminal empire, Richard adopts the Rose persona to undermine his father's operations from within. He wears a distinctive mask and a suit, often carrying a rose as his signature.
Blood Rose[edit | edit source]
After abandoning the Rose identity, Richard Fisk later becomes the Blood Rose, a more violent and ruthless persona. This transformation marks a significant shift in his character, as he becomes more willing to use lethal force to achieve his goals.
Powers and abilities[edit | edit source]
Rose does not possess any superhuman abilities but is a skilled hand-to-hand combatant and proficient with firearms. His strategic mind and deep understanding of the criminal underworld make him a formidable adversary.
In other media[edit | edit source]
Rose has appeared in various Spider-Man-related media, including animated series and video games, often as a secondary antagonist.
