The SS Ellan Vannin was a steamship operated by the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company that served the route between Liverpool and Douglas, Isle of Man. Built in 1860 by Caird & Company, the vessel was registered in Douglas, Isle of Man.

The SS Ellan Vannin was constructed in 1860 at the shipyard of Caird & Company. The vessel, with yard number 186, was built to serve the growing demand for transportation between Liverpool and Douglas.

Upon completion, the SS Ellan Vannin commenced operations on the Liverpool-Douglas route under the management of the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company. The ship provided a vital link for passengers and cargo between the two ports.
