Sam Reid (footballer, born 1989)
Sam Reid (born 7 December 1989) is an Australian rules footballer who plays for the Sydney Swans in the Australian Football League (AFL). He is known for his versatility, playing both as a key forward and a key defender.
Early Life and Junior Career[edit | edit source]
Reid was born in Victoria and grew up in a sports-oriented family. His older brother, Ben Reid, also plays in the AFL. Sam Reid played his junior football with the Murray Bushrangers in the TAC Cup, where he showcased his athleticism and football skills.

Reid was drafted by the Sydney Swans with the 38th pick in the 2009 AFL Draft. He made his debut in the 2010 season and quickly established himself as a promising young player.

In the 2011 season, Reid had a breakout year, playing 22 games and kicking 22 goals. His performance earned him a nomination for the AFL Rising Star award.
