Samuel Gottlieb Vogel
Samuel Gottlieb Vogel (1750–1837) was a prominent German physician and naturalist. He made significant contributions to the fields of medicine and natural history during the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

Samuel Gottlieb Vogel was born on March 14, 1750, in Erfurt, Germany. He pursued his medical studies at the University of Göttingen, where he was influenced by the teachings of Albrecht von Haller, a renowned Swiss anatomist and physiologist. Vogel earned his medical degree in 1772.

After completing his education, Vogel practiced medicine in various German cities, including Göttingen, Jena, and Halle. He was appointed as a professor of medicine at the University of Jena in 1780, where he taught until 1786. Vogel was later appointed as a professor at the University of Halle, where he continued his academic and medical practice.
