Scooby-Doo is an American animated franchise, comprising many animated television series produced from 1969 to the present day. The series was created by Joe Ruby and Ken Spears for Hanna-Barbera Productions. The original series, Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!, debuted on CBS in 1969 and has since become a cultural icon, spawning numerous spin-offs, films, and merchandise.

The series follows the adventures of a group of teenagers and their talking Great Dane, Scooby-Doo, who travel in a van called the Mystery Machine and solve mysteries involving supposedly supernatural creatures. The group consists of Fred Jones, Daphne Blake, Velma Dinkley, Shaggy Rogers, and Scooby-Doo. The typical plot involves the gang encountering a mystery, investigating it, and ultimately revealing that the supernatural elements were hoaxes perpetrated by criminals.
