Minnesota State Senator Scott Jensen
American physician and politician
Scott Jensen is an American physician and politician who served as a member of the Minnesota Senate from 2017 to 2021. He represented the 47th district, which includes portions of Carver County in the southwestern part of the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metropolitan area.
Jensen was born and raised in Minnesota . He attended Luther College (Iowa) , where he earned his undergraduate degree. He later attended medical school and became a licensed physician .
Jensen has practiced family medicine for several decades. He has been recognized for his contributions to the field and has been involved in various medical organizations. His medical career has been a significant part of his public persona and has influenced his political views and actions.
Jensen was elected to the Minnesota Senate in 2016 as a member of the Republican Party . During his tenure, he served on several committees and was known for his work on healthcare policy, leveraging his background as a physician. He did not seek re-election in 2020 and was succeeded by Julia Coleman .
Jensen is married and has children. He continues to reside in Minnesota and remains active in both his medical practice and community affairs.
