Scuba Schools International
Scuba Schools International (SSI) is a globally recognized scuba diving training organization. Established in 1970, SSI has expanded to include more than 30 Service Centers, is represented in more than 110 countries with over 2,800 International locations, and has materials printed in more than 30 languages.
History[edit | edit source]
Scuba Schools International was founded by Robert Clark in 1970. The organization was initially launched as a scuba training business but has since expanded to offer a range of educational programs in the field of underwater exploration and safety.
Training and Certification[edit | edit source]
SSI offers a variety of scuba diving training courses, ranging from beginner to professional levels. The training system is based on a modular training system, which allows students to learn at their own pace. The courses include Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, Dive Guide, and Dive Control Specialist, among others.
SSI's certification is recognized worldwide and is known for its high standards of training, safety, and education. The organization also offers specialty courses such as Deep Diving, Navigation, Night and Limited Visibility, and Search and Recovery.
Digital Learning[edit | edit source]
In addition to traditional in-person training, SSI also offers digital learning options. This allows students to complete the theoretical part of their scuba diving training online, at their own pace, before moving on to the practical training sessions.
Environmental Initiatives[edit | edit source]
SSI is committed to the protection of the oceans and marine life. The organization promotes sustainable diving practices through its Blue Oceans initiative, which encourages divers to take an active role in preserving and protecting the world's oceans.
