Sean Berdy is an American actor and comedian. He is best known for his role as Emmett Bledsoe in the television series Switched at Birth. Berdy was born on June 3, 1993, in Boca Raton, Florida. He comes from a deaf family and is fluent in American Sign Language.

Berdy was born deaf to parents who are also deaf. He grew up in a signing environment and learned American Sign Language as his first language. Berdy attended the Indiana School for the Deaf and later studied at Gallaudet University.
