Seborrhea
Seborrhea (also known as Seborrheic Dermatitis) is a common, chronic or relapsing form of eczema/dermatitis that primarily affects the sebaceous, gland-rich regions of the scalp, face, and trunk.
Causes[edit | edit source]
The exact cause of seborrheic dermatitis is unknown, although genes and hormones play a role. Microorganisms that live on the skin naturally can also contribute to seborrheic dermatitis.
Symptoms[edit | edit source]
People with seborrhea may notice their skin becoming itchy and red, and white or yellowish crusty scales may form on the affected areas.
Treatment[edit | edit source]
Treatment for seborrhea often involves the use of medicated shampoos, creams, and lotions.
