Sega lengko
Sega Lengko is a traditional Indonesian dish, specifically from the Cirebon region in West Java. It is a type of mixed rice, served with a variety of side dishes and condiments.
Ingredients and Preparation[edit | edit source]
The main ingredient of Sega Lengko is rice, which is cooked and then mixed with a variety of other ingredients. These typically include tempeh, tofu, cucumber, bean sprouts, basil, and green onions. The dish is then topped with a peanut sauce, and often served with krupuk (Indonesian crackers) and sambal (a spicy condiment).
The preparation of Sega Lengko involves cooking the rice and then separately preparing the other ingredients. The tempeh and tofu are typically fried, while the vegetables are either raw or lightly blanched. The peanut sauce is made by grinding peanuts into a paste and then cooking it with other ingredients such as garlic, chili, and sweet soy sauce.
Cultural Significance[edit | edit source]
