Sher-E-Bangla Medical College
Sher-E-Bangla Medical College (SBMC) is a government medical college in Bangladesh, established to provide medical education and healthcare services. It is located in Barisal, a major city in the southern part of the country. The college is named after A.K. Fazlul Huq, a prominent Bengali statesman who was popularly known by the title Sher-E-Bangla, meaning 'Tiger of Bengal'. Sher-E-Bangla Medical College is affiliated with the University of Dhaka and is recognized by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC), the regulatory authority for medical practitioners in Bangladesh.
