Shilpa Shetty Kundra (born 8 June 1975) is an Indian actress, businesswoman, and former model. She is primarily known for her work in Hindi cinema, but has also appeared in Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada language films. Shetty made her acting debut in the thriller Baazigar (1993), which was a commercial success. Her performance in the film earned her nominations for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress and the Filmfare Award for Lux New Face of the Year.

Early life

Shilpa Shetty was born in Mangalore, Karnataka, to Tulu-speaking parents. She attended St. Anthony's Girls' High School in Chembur, Mumbai, and later attended Podar College in Matunga.

Film career

Shetty's breakthrough role came with the 2000 film Dhadkan, which was a major commercial success. She received widespread acclaim for her performance and established herself as a leading actress in the industry.
