Slope County, North Dakota
Slope County is a county located in the U.S. state of North Dakota. As of the 2020 Census, the population was 750, making it the least populous county in North Dakota and the 20th least populous county in the United States. The county seat is Amidon.

Slope County is located in the southwestern part of North Dakota, bordering Montana. The county's topography makes it part of the Great Plains. The highest point in North Dakota, White Butte, is in Slope County.
History[edit | edit source]
Slope County was created by the 1914 North Dakota state legislature. The county was named for the slope of the land, which rises from the Little Missouri River in the east to the Montana border in the west.

As of the 2020 Census, there were 750 people, 330 households, and 220 families residing in the county.
