Solitude Mountain Resort is a ski resort located in the Big Cottonwood Canyon of the Wasatch Mountains in Utah, United States. The resort is known for its picturesque alpine scenery, diverse terrain, and a variety of winter and summer activities.

Solitude Mountain Resort was founded in 1957 by Robert M. Barrett, a uranium tycoon who purchased the land and developed the area into a ski resort. The resort has since grown and evolved, offering modern amenities and facilities while maintaining its charm and natural beauty.

Solitude Mountain Resort is situated in the Big Cottonwood Canyon, approximately 30 miles southeast of Salt Lake City. The resort covers an area of 1,200 acres and features a vertical drop of 2,030 feet. The base elevation is 7,988 feet, and the summit elevation reaches 10,488 feet.

The resort offers a variety of terrain suitable for all skill levels, from beginner to expert. There are 82 named runs, with the following distribution:

  • 10% beginner
  • 40% intermediate
  • 50% advanced/expert

Solitude Mountain Resort is also known for its excellent tree skiing and off-piste opportunities. The resort features eight chairlifts, including one high-speed quad, and a variety of terrain parks for freestyle enthusiasts.
