Southcentral Foundation
Southcentral Foundation is a non-profit health organization based in Anchorage, Alaska. It was established in 1982 to serve the health needs of the Alaska Native and American Indian population in the Southcentral region of Alaska. The organization provides a comprehensive range of health services, including primary care, dental care, behavioral health services, and traditional healing practices.

Southcentral Foundation was established in 1982 as a result of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971. This act led to the creation of 12 regional corporations in Alaska, one of which is the Cook Inlet Region, Inc., the parent organization of Southcentral Foundation. The foundation was created to provide health services to the Alaska Native and American Indian population in the Southcentral region of Alaska.
Services[edit | edit source]
Southcentral Foundation provides a comprehensive range of health services. These include primary care, dental care, behavioral health services, optometry, pharmacy services, and traditional healing practices. The foundation also offers educational programs and services for children and families, such as early childhood education and parenting support programs.
Nuka System of Care[edit | edit source]
One of the key initiatives of Southcentral Foundation is the Nuka System of Care, a holistic healthcare delivery model that focuses on the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness of the individual. The Nuka System of Care has been recognized nationally and internationally for its innovative approach to healthcare delivery.

Southcentral Foundation has received numerous awards and recognition for its services and programs. These include the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in 2011 and 2017, the highest recognition for performance excellence that a U.S. organization can receive.
