Srinakharinwirot University (SWU) is a public university in Thailand, established in 1949 as the Higher Teacher Training School at Prasarnmit and was later upgraded to a university status in 1974, becoming the first teacher training university in Thailand. It is named after Prince Mahidol Adulyadej, Prince of Songkla, whose royal title was Srinakharinwirot. The university plays a pivotal role in providing education in the fields of health sciences, social sciences, humanities, and science and technology.
