Stelvio
Stelvio is a small village located in the Province of Sondrio, in the Lombardy region of Italy. It is best known for the nearby Stelvio Pass, one of the highest paved mountain passes in the Alps, and the Stelvio National Park, one of the largest nature reserves in Europe.
Geography[edit | edit source]
Stelvio is situated in the Ortler Alps, a mountain range in the eastern Alps. The village is located at an altitude of 1,318 meters above sea level. The Stelvio Pass, which reaches an elevation of 2,757 meters, is located nearby and is a popular destination for cyclists and motorists due to its challenging road and stunning views.
Stelvio Pass[edit | edit source]
The Stelvio Pass is a mountain pass in northern Italy, bordering Switzerland. It is the highest paved mountain pass in the Eastern Alps, and the second highest in the Alps, just 13 meters below France's Col de l'Iseran. The pass is especially popular among cyclists, as it has been featured in the Giro d'Italia multiple times.
