Sterling Vineyards
Sterling Vineyards[edit | edit source]
Sterling Vineyards is a renowned vineyard and winery located in the Napa Valley, California, United States. The vineyard was established in 1964 by British international paper broker, Peter Newton.
History[edit | edit source]
Peter Newton, a British international paper broker, purchased 50 acres of land in Calistoga, Napa Valley in 1964 and established Sterling Vineyards. The winery was named after a previous property on the land, the Sterling Vineyard, a reference to the quality of the wine produced there.
Architecture[edit | edit source]
The architecture of Sterling Vineyards is inspired by the Greek island of Mykonos, where Newton once lived. The white stucco building stands out against the natural colors of the surrounding hills and vineyards. The winery also features a unique aerial tram which carries visitors from the main entrance to the hilltop winery, offering panoramic views of Napa Valley.
Wine Production[edit | edit source]
Sterling Vineyards produces a variety of wines, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Merlot. The vineyard is known for its commitment to sustainable farming practices and has been certified by the Napa Green Certified Winery program.
