Swedish meatballs

Swedish meatballs are a classic dish known for their rich, creamy sauce and tender meatballs. This recipe is a keto-friendly version, using almond flour instead of breadcrumbs and heavy cream instead of milk.

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, almond flour, heavy cream, egg, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and allspice. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on a baking sheet.
  4. Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until they are browned and cooked through.
  5. While the meatballs are baking, make the sauce. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  6. Add the beef broth, heavy cream, and Dijon mustard to the skillet. Stir to combine and bring the sauce to a simmer.
  7. Once the meatballs are done baking, add them to the skillet with the sauce. Simmer for an additional 10 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
  8. Garnish with parsley before serving.
