Tamar Braxton
Tamar Braxton (born March 17, 1977) is an American singer, actress, and television personality. She began her career in 1990 as a founding member of The Braxtons, an R&B singing group formed with her sisters. The Braxtons released their debut album, So Many Ways, in 1996, but disbanded shortly afterward. In 2000, Braxton released her debut self-titled album through DreamWorks Records.

Tamar Estine Braxton was born to Michael Braxton and Evelyn Braxton in Severn, Maryland. She is the youngest of six children. Her siblings include Toni Braxton, Traci Braxton, Towanda Braxton, Trina Braxton, and Michael Conrad Braxton Jr..

The Braxtons[edit | edit source]
In 1990, Tamar and her sisters formed the group The Braxtons and signed their first record deal with Arista Records. Their debut single, "Good Life", was released in 1990. The group released their debut album, So Many Ways, in 1996 under Atlantic Records.
Solo Career[edit | edit source]
In 2000, Tamar Braxton released her debut solo album, Tamar, which included the singles "Get None" and "If You Don't Wanna Love Me". Despite the album's lack of commercial success, Braxton continued to pursue her solo career.
In 2013, she released her second album, Love and War, which was a commercial success and received critical acclaim. The album's lead single, "Love and War", topped the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
Television Career[edit | edit source]
Tamar Braxton has also made a name for herself in television. She starred in the reality television series Braxton Family Values alongside her sisters. The show premiered on WE tv in 2011 and has been a significant success.
In 2013, she began co-hosting the daytime talk show The Real, for which she won two Daytime Emmy Awards. She left the show in 2016.
Personal Life[edit | edit source]
Tamar Braxton married music producer Vincent Herbert in 2008. The couple has one son, Logan Vincent Herbert, born in 2013. They divorced in 2019.
