Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital (TAH) is a government-funded public hospital located in Kuantan, Pahang, Malaysia. It is named after the late Tengku Ampuan Afzan, the consort of the seventh Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia.

History[edit]

The Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital was officially opened on 5th August 1981 by the late Sultan of Pahang, Sultan Ahmad Shah. The hospital was named after his consort, Tengku Ampuan Afzan, in her honor.

Facilities and Services[edit]

The hospital has a capacity of 631 beds and provides a wide range of medical services. These include emergency services, general surgery, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, orthopaedics, and radiology.

Training and Research[edit]

Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital is also a teaching hospital affiliated with the International Islamic University Malaysia and Universiti Malaysia Pahang. It provides clinical training for medical students and conducts medical research.

Notable Incidents[edit]

In 2020, the hospital was designated as one of the COVID-19 treatment hospitals in Pahang during the COVID-19 pandemic in Malaysia.
