The Medical City Ortigas is a tertiary care hospital located in Ortigas Center, Pasig, Metro Manila, Philippines. It is the main hospital of The Medical City (TMC) which operates a network of hospitals and clinics throughout the country.
History[edit | edit source]
The Medical City Ortigas, originally known as ABM Sison Hospital, was established in 1967. In 1969, the hospital underwent a change in management and was subsequently renamed as "The Medical City" or TMC in 1975. The hospital relocated to its current location in Ortigas in 2004.
During the 2020 coronavirus pandemic in the Philippines, The Medical City Ortigas played a crucial role in providing healthcare services to COVID-19 patients. The hospital exceeded its capacity at one point and became one of the designated COVID-19 testing centers in the country.
Facilities[edit | edit source]
The Medical City Ortigas is situated on a 1.5-hectare property along Ortigas Avenue in Pasig. The main facility spans an area of 115,000 square meters and consists of two Nursing Towers with a capacity of up to 800 beds. The towers are connected by a central podium housing various medical departments and facilities.
