Thomas T. Minor

Thomas T. Minor (February 20, 1844 – December 2, 1889) was an American physician, politician, and civic leader in the Pacific Northwest. He served as the mayor of both Seattle, Washington and Port Townsend, Washington during the late 19th century.

Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]

Thomas T. Minor was born in New Castle, Maine. He pursued his medical education at the University of Michigan, where he graduated with a degree in medicine. After completing his studies, Minor moved to the Pacific Northwest, where he would spend the majority of his professional life.

Minor began his medical practice in Olympia, Washington, where he quickly gained a reputation for his skill and dedication. He later moved to Port Townsend, Washington, where he continued his medical practice and became a prominent figure in the community.

Thomas T. Minor's political career began in Port Townsend, where he was elected mayor in 1878. His leadership and vision for the city earned him widespread respect. In 1887, Minor moved to Seattle, Washington, where he was elected mayor in 1887. During his tenure, he focused on improving public health and infrastructure.
