- Tagging and CSD: Users can tag articles for speedy deletion (CSD) or add maintenance tags to articles that require attention. Twinkle simplifies the process of selecting the appropriate criteria and templates.
- User Warnings: Twinkle includes a comprehensive set of user warning templates that can be used to notify editors of inappropriate behavior or guideline violations. These warnings are customizable and can be issued with ease.
- Requesting Page Protection: Twinkle facilitates the process of requesting page protection by automatically generating the necessary templates and notifications.
- Nominations for Deletion: Twinkle streamlines the process of nominating articles for deletion, whether through Articles for Deletion (AfD) or Proposed Deletion (PROD).
- Welcoming New Users: Twinkle provides tools for welcoming new users to Wikipedia, offering a selection of welcome templates that can be customized.

Twinkle is available to registered Wikipedia users who have enabled it in their preferences. Once enabled, Twinkle adds a set of tabs and options to the user interface, allowing for quick access to its features. It is particularly useful for users involved in counter-vandalism, new pages patrol, and other maintenance activities.
Development and Maintenance[edit | edit source]
Twinkle was originally developed by AzaToth and has since been maintained and enhanced by a team of volunteers, including Amorymeltzer and MusikAnimal. The tool is open-source and hosted on GitHub, where users can contribute to its development or report issues.
