Wesley Louden Borland (born February 7, 1975) is an American rock musician and guitarist, best known as the lead guitarist of the nu metal band Limp Bizkit. He is also the lead vocalist and guitarist for the industrial rock band Black Light Burns and a member of the metal band Big Dumb Face.

Early life[edit | edit source]

Wes Borland was born in Richmond, Virginia, and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. He developed an interest in music at an early age and began playing the guitar during his teenage years. Borland attended the Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in Jacksonville, Florida, where he honed his musical skills.

Career[edit | edit source]

Limp Bizkit[edit | edit source]

In 1994, Borland joined Limp Bizkit, a band formed by Fred Durst, Sam Rivers, and John Otto. The band gained popularity with their debut album, Three Dollar Bill, Y'all, released in 1997. Borland's unique guitar playing and stage presence contributed significantly to the band's success. He is known for his elaborate stage outfits and body paint, which have become a trademark of his performances.

Borland left Limp Bizkit in 2001 but rejoined the band in 2004. He has since been an integral part of the band's lineup, contributing to albums such as Results May Vary, Gold Cobra, and Still Sucks.

In 2005, Borland formed Black Light Burns, an industrial rock band where he serves as the lead vocalist and guitarist. The band released their debut album, Cruel Melody, in 2007, followed by The Moment You Realize You're Going to Fall in 2012.

Borland has been involved in various other musical projects, including Big Dumb Face, a metal band known for its humorous and experimental style. He has also collaborated with bands such as From First to Last and Marilyn Manson.
