A whole body counter is a device used to identify and measure the radioactive material in the body of human beings and animals.
What shielding does whole body counter need?[edit | edit source]
It uses heavy shielding to keep out naturally existing background radiation. It also needs to detect and eliminate any radiation from equipment such as ultrasensitive radiation detectors and electronic counting equipment.
