William Henry Brouse
William Henry Brouse (June 15, 1824 – August 23, 1881) was a Canadian physician and politician. He served as a member of the House of Commons of Canada.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
William Henry Brouse was born in Matilda Township, Upper Canada. He was the son of George Brouse and Catherine Brouse. Brouse pursued his early education in local schools before attending the University of Toronto, where he studied medicine. He later completed his medical training at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.
Medical Career[edit | edit source]
After completing his education, Brouse returned to Canada and established a medical practice in Morrisburg, Ontario. He became a well-respected physician in the community and was known for his dedication to his patients.
Political Career[edit | edit source]
Brouse entered politics as a member of the Liberal Party of Canada. He was first elected to the House of Commons of Canada in the 1872 Canadian federal election representing the riding of Grenville South. He was re-elected in the 1874 Canadian federal election and served until 1878.
During his time in office, Brouse was known for his advocacy on issues related to public health and medical education. He was a proponent of improving healthcare services and medical training in Canada.

William Henry Brouse married Mary Ann Brouse and the couple had several children. He was actively involved in his community and was a member of various local organizations.
