  • Winfield, AL is a city located in the northwestern part of the state of Alabama, in the United States. It is part of both Marion and Fayette counties and is known for its rich history and southern charm.

  • Winfield was initially known as "Needmore" and was incorporated as a city in 1887. The city was later renamed to Winfield in honor of General Winfield Scott. This city has a rich history that is deeply rooted in the coal mining industry.

  • Winfield is located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 43 and State Highway 118. The city covers a total area of 17.3 square miles, of which 17.2 square miles is land and 0.1 square miles is water.
