Woodroofe
Woodroofe[edit | edit source]
Woodroofe is a renowned brand of soft drinks that originated in Australia. The brand is known for its unique flavors and has a rich history dating back to the late 19th century.
History[edit | edit source]
Woodroofe was established in 1878 by Thomas Woodroofe, an English sailor who settled in Port Adelaide, Australia. He initially started a lemonade business using a recipe he developed during his sea voyages. The business eventually expanded into a variety of soft drinks, becoming a popular brand in South Australia.
Products[edit | edit source]
Woodroofe produces a wide range of soft drinks, including Lemonade, Sarsaparilla, Ginger Beer, and Squash. The brand is particularly known for its flagship product, Woodroofe Sno-Top, a unique blend of lemonade and creamy soda.
Ownership[edit | edit source]
In 1972, Woodroofe was acquired by Cadbury Schweppes, a British multinational confectionery company. The brand continued to operate under the Cadbury Schweppes umbrella until 2008, when it was sold to Asahi Breweries, a Japanese beverage company.
Distribution[edit | edit source]
Woodroofe soft drinks are primarily distributed in South Australia. However, they are also available in other parts of Australia and internationally through various online retailers.
