World Police and Fire Games

World Police and Fire Games (WPFG) is an international multi-sport event, organized for law enforcement officers and firefighters from around the world. The games were established in 1985 and are held every two years in different host cities.

The World Police and Fire Games Federation (WPFGF), a non-profit organization, was established in 1983 to organize the games. The first games were held in San Jose, California in 1985. Since then, the games have been held in various cities around the world, including Vancouver, New York City, Barcelona, Belfast, and Chengdu.

Participants[edit | edit source]

Participants in the World Police and Fire Games include active and retired law enforcement and fire service personnel from around the world. This includes police officers, firefighters, customs officers, and correctional officers. The games are open to all full-time and retired employees of law enforcement and fire service agencies, regardless of their rank or role.

The World Police and Fire Games feature a wide range of sports, from traditional athletic events such as track and field, swimming, and cycling, to more specialized events such as tug of war, police service dog competitions, and firefighter combat challenge. The games also include a number of team sports, including soccer, basketball, and ice hockey.
