Yeovil District Hospital

Yeovil District Hospital is a National Health Service (NHS) hospital in Yeovil, Somerset, England. It is managed by the Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

The hospital was established in 1973, replacing the previous Yeovil Hospital which had been in operation since 1854. The new hospital was built on a site adjacent to the old one, which was subsequently demolished.

Services[edit | edit source]

Yeovil District Hospital provides a wide range of services, including emergency care, surgery, maternity care, and paediatrics. It also offers specialist services such as cardiology, oncology, and orthopaedics.

Facilities[edit | edit source]

The hospital has approximately 345 beds and employs over 2,000 staff. Facilities include an Intensive Care Unit, a Stroke Unit, and a Cancer Care Centre. The hospital also has a helipad for air ambulance services.

Performance[edit | edit source]

Yeovil District Hospital has been rated as 'Good' by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the independent regulator of health and social care in England.

Future Developments[edit | edit source]

The hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment project, which will see the construction of a new Emergency Department and Operating Theatre.
