Zopyrus (physician)
Zopyrus was a physician in Ancient Greece who is known for his work in the field of medicine during the 5th century BC. He was a contemporary of Hippocrates, and is often mentioned in the same context.

Zopyrus was a native of Ephesus, a city in what is now Turkey. He was a member of the medical school of Cnidus, which was one of the two leading medical schools in Greece at the time, the other being the school of Cos.
Zopyrus is known for his work in the field of ophthalmology, and he is credited with being one of the first physicians to treat eye diseases. He is also known for his work in the field of gynecology, and he is credited with being one of the first physicians to perform a hysterectomy.
