Tryptamines share a core structure comprised of a bicyclic indole heterocycle attached at R3 to an amino group via an ethyl side chain. 5-Me-MiPT is substituted at R5 of its indole heterocycle with a methoxy (MeO) functional group CH3O−; it also contains two methyl groups CH3- bound to the terminal amine RN of its tryptamine backbone (MiPT).

Pharmacology[edit | edit source]

The pharmacology of 5-Me-MiPT is not fully understood. As a tryptamine, it is believed to act as a serotonin receptor agonist, similar to other psychedelic drugs. However, the exact mechanisms of action and the full spectrum of its effects are still under research.
