Amir Haddad
Amir Haddad (born June 20, 1984), better known as Amir, is an Israeli-French singer and songwriter. He gained fame as a contestant on the third season of the French version of The Voice: la plus belle voix in 2014, where he finished in third place. Amir represented France in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song "J'ai cherché", finishing in sixth place.
Early Life[edit | edit source]
Amir Haddad was born in Paris, France, to a Tunisian-Moroccan Jewish family. He moved to Israel at the age of 8. Amir grew up in Herzliya, a city in the central coastal region of Israel. He served in the Israel Defense Forces and later pursued a career in dentistry, graduating from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Early Beginnings[edit | edit source]
Amir's music career began in Israel, where he participated in the Israeli music competition Kokhav Nolad in 2006. Although he did not win, the exposure helped him to establish a presence in the Israeli music scene.
The Voice: la plus belle voix[edit | edit source]
In 2014, Amir auditioned for the third season of The Voice: la plus belle voix, the French version of the popular singing competition. He joined Jenifer's team and progressed to the finals, ultimately finishing in third place. His performances on the show earned him a significant following in France.
Eurovision Song Contest 2016[edit | edit source]
Amir was selected to represent France in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song "J'ai cherché". The song was well-received and finished in sixth place, which was France's best result in the contest since 2002. The success of "J'ai cherché" boosted Amir's popularity across Europe.

Following his success at Eurovision, Amir released his debut French-language album, Au cœur de moi, in 2016. The album included hits like "On dirait" and "J'ai cherché". He continued to release successful albums, including Addictions in 2017 and Ressources in 2020.

Amir is married to Lital Haddad, and the couple has two children. He is fluent in Hebrew, French, and English.
