Arkansas State University (often referred to as A-State) is a public research university located in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Established in 1909, the institution has played a pivotal role in the academic and cultural development of the Arkansas delta region.

Arkansas State University began its journey as the First District Agricultural School in Jonesboro in 1909. Over the years, it underwent several name changes and expansions to evolve into a comprehensive university.
