Arkansas State University (often referred to as A-State) is a public research university located in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Established in 1909, the institution has played a pivotal role in the academic and cultural development of the Arkansas delta region.

Arkansas State University began its journey as the First District Agricultural School in Jonesboro in 1909.
