Arunachal Pradesh

Arunachal Pradesh is one of the 28 states located in the northeastern part of India. It shares international borders with Bhutan in the west, Myanmar in the east, and a disputed border with China in the north at the McMahon Line. Itanagar is the state capital of Arunachal Pradesh. Arunachal Pradesh is the largest of the Seven Sister States of Northeast India by area.

Geography

Arunachal Pradesh is located in the Eastern Himalayas. It borders the states of Assam and Nagaland to the south. It shares international borders with Bhutan in the west, Myanmar in the east, and is separated from China in the north by the McMahon Line. Itanagar is the state capital of Arunachal Pradesh.

Demographics

Arunachal Pradesh is home to a diverse range of ethnic groups, most of which are in some ways related to the Tibeto-Burman family. 26 major tribes and over 100 sub-tribes are found in the state. Most of these communities are agriculturally oriented.

Economy

The economy of Arunachal Pradesh is largely based on agriculture, with over 80% of the state's population engaged in this sector. Rice, maize, millet, wheat, pulses, sugarcane, ginger, and oilseeds are the primary crops, while horticulture and fruit orchards are also important components of the state's economy.

Culture

The state is rich in cultural heritage and is known for its rich traditions of crafts, music, dances and festivals. The major festivals of Arunachal Pradesh are Solung, Losar, Boori Boot, Dree, Reh, Nyokum, Mopin, Si-Donyi and Jaipur.

Cuisine

The cuisine of Arunachal Pradesh is truly diverse and unique, with each tribe having its own distinct culinary methods and ingredients. Rice, fish, meat and leafy vegetables are the staple food of the people of Arunachal Pradesh.
