Australian Catholic University (ACU) is a public university in Australia. Established in 1991, it is one of the few Catholic universities in the country. ACU has multiple campuses located in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Ballarat, and Adelaide.

Australian Catholic University was formed in 1991 through the amalgamation of four Catholic tertiary institutions in eastern Australia: Catholic College of Education Sydney, Institute of Catholic Education, McAuley College, and Signadou College of Education. These institutions had their origins in the mid-19th century, providing teacher education and other services.

The university is organized into four faculties:

  • Faculty of Education and Arts
  • Faculty of Health Sciences
  • Faculty of Law and Business
  • Faculty of Theology and Philosophy
