Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU) is a central university located in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. The university is named after B. R. Ambedkar, an Indian jurist, economist, politician, and social reformer who inspired the Dalit Buddhist movement and campaigned against social discrimination towards the untouchables (Dalits).

The university was established in 1996 by an Act of Parliament. It aims to promote advanced knowledge by providing instructional and research facilities in such branches of learning as it may deem fit. The university is dedicated to the cause of promoting learning and research in higher education, especially among the marginalized sections of society.
