Bala is a 2019 Indian Hindi-language comedy film directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan under the banner of Maddock Films. The film stars Ayushmann Khurrana in the titular role, alongside Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam. The film addresses the societal issues related to baldness and skin color in a humorous manner.

The story revolves around Balmukund "Bala" Shukla (Ayushmann Khurrana), a young man from Kanpur who suffers from premature balding. Bala works as a marketing agent for a fairness cream company and struggles with his self-esteem due to his baldness. His childhood friend, Latika Trivedi (Bhumi Pednekar), who has faced discrimination due to her dark skin, becomes an important part of his journey.

Bala tries various methods to regrow his hair, including home remedies, wigs, and hair transplants, but nothing seems to work. He eventually meets Pari Mishra (Yami Gautam), a beautiful model who is unaware of his baldness. They fall in love and get married, but their relationship faces challenges when Pari discovers Bala's secret.

The film explores themes of self-acceptance and societal beauty standards, ultimately conveying the message that true beauty lies within.
