Balkan Peninsula
The Balkan Peninsula is a geographical region located in southeastern Europe. It is surrounded by the Adriatic Sea to the west, the Mediterranean Sea and the Aegean Sea to the south, and the Black Sea to the east. Its northern boundary is often given as the Danube River, Sava River, and Kupa River. The peninsula is named after the Balkan Mountains that stretch from the Serbian-Bulgarian border to the Black Sea.
